FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-------------------------------------------
1. What is flatland?

In the simplest terms, flatland is doing tricks on BMX bikes on a flat area like a basketball court or car park.

Flatland is what the riders themselves call it, but the general public usually refers to it as BMX flatland.

2. Why is the film called Elusion?

Mainly due to the elusive nature of the flatlanders that are in the film. The name was meant to embody two things. The physical aspect of flatland - it looks like magic to the average observer. And the mental aspect - most of the flatlanders that appear in the film avoid being in the public eye as much as possible.
-------------------------------------------
3. Where are these flatlanders from?

They are from all over the United States and Canada.
-------------------------------------------
4. Why does the film only have North American flatlanders in it?

The main reason was that some of the best flatlanders in the world live in North America and most people had never even seen them ride. On top of that, this film was an expensive experiment that turned out, but would have cost many times more than it did to shoot on an international scale with less chance of success.

7. How much will the DVD cost?

Around 20 USD

8. Why are some of the stills in the photos section slightly blurry?

Unlike still photography where you would shoot action shots at a 1/125th, 1/250th and even 1/500th of a second to freeze the motion, films are generally shot at a 1/48th of a second because the intent is not to freeze the motion.
-------------------------------------------
9. How did you create the lighting effect in the photo used on the poster?

It was created by how the photo was taken. The photo was not manipulated later to achieve the lighting effect or the ghosted image of the rider.
-------------------------------------------
10. Who is the rider in the photo?

He is arguably the most mythical flatlander in North American history. It is up to him whether or not to reveal his identity.
-------------------------------------------
11. Is the rider in the photo in the film?

Yes

12. What type of camera did you use on Elusion?
